“We had a great time, the drive was safe, rather slow and a timely pick up/drop off. Our guide Roberto was very nice and took care of the group. We had different fitness levels on the tour and had breaks every 15-20 minutes which made the main hike pretty easy. For the price of this tour, it’s the exact same thing as all other tours offer and we had a great time!”

“The driver picked us up promptly the morning of the hike and we drove to the starting point of the Pacaya Volcano! The hike was genuinely not that hard - our guide Louis wasn’t comfortable speaking English so we tried our best to understand what he tried to explain to us through the journey. We roasted marshmallows at the top - there was no pizza making at the volcano although it’s mentioned in the day trip description? As the other comments suggest, the guide does have a couple of dogs that walk all the way through the hike with you - so bring some biscuits to feed them! On our…”

He was so knowledgeable about the amazingness of Guatemala and had such great stories to tell about Nikki (the owner of the animal reserve the tour is done through). What their organization is doing is truly inspiring and warmed my heart to hear how well the animals are preserved and cared for. Their work transcends beyond helping tourists see the beauty of Antigua. They are truly changing the lives of so many animals and it’s inspiring. The tour was a blast! And to eat pizza and s’mores made with the lava coals from the volcano?! Come on! And the pizza…”

“This experience was amazing. I learned that the volcano erupted in 2021 and witnessed the results of such. The guide was knowledgeable and lived in the village nearby. There are options to ride horses up to and fro the base of the volcano. I would recommend this excuse for sure.”

“Get ready to hike. I do not think this is a beginner’s friendly hike, more moderate- advanced. They have gourdes that you can ride up the mountain but they are pretty overpriced so be sure to carry extra cash if you cannot complete the hike. (Mind you I actually work out and it was difficult). Great experience overall, but beware of physicality required.”
